About Us
4-H Paws N Pals Club is Allegany County, Maryland’s newest 4-H specialty club. We’ve assembled volunteers who love dogs and the internet to offer a unique program to children and teens ages 8 to 18.
On one side we have everything Dog! Test your knowledge of man’s best friend by joining the Dog Quiz Bowl team and compete at the State level for the honor of being named Maryland Dog Quiz Bowl Champion. Played like Jeopardy, only with dog questions, this team sport is fun, fast, and “fur-ious”. When a new member joins the club, the first step for 4-H’er and dog will be good manner obedience classes to work toward the AKC Canine Good Citizen test certification. After CGC is obtained, 4-H’ers will have a variety of different dog related activities and dog sports to get involved in. Agility, Rally-O, Junior Showmanship, Therapy Dog work, Canine Freestyle, and Doggie Drillteam are examples of the fun we’ll be having. Maryland 4-H even has Lease A Dog program for kids who don’t have their own dog.
On the other side we have everything Tech! The 4-H Paws N Pals Club will operate a full time web site with an e-commerce store that will sell products to help fund the club’s activities. 4-H’ers will learn entrepreneurship, how to run a business, and how to operate an e-commerce site. 4-H’ers will learn online marketing, sales, distribution, product selection, bookkeeping, and the skills related to running a business. Great fun! Great experience!
